There is a jargon in our project: "All safety accidents are caused by one reason: non-compliance with rules and regulations". What rules and regulations do we have when driving excavators? How to avoid the occurrence of excavator accidents as much as possible, and how to reduce excavator failures and extend the service life of the excavator? I have sorted out some common mistakes in safe operation and some precautions to share with you.
1、 Remember to lock the door, do not hold the door frame
There are many masters who are used to not locking the doors properly when driving excavators (the doors of the cab of excavators are locked when closed and locked when opened), and they are used to holding the door frame. When the excavator is descending a slope or a trailer, many drivers will use their left hand to push on the windshield or door frame, and use their right hand to operate the excavator. At this time, if the door is open and unlocked, because the body leans forward, the door will close quickly due to gravity, which is usually a great force. Hands on the door frame will be clamped. The consequences are serious.
Therefore, when the excavator is opened and operated, the door must be locked no matter whether it is opened or closed. The driver should try not to hold the door frame.
2、 Precautions during walking
Many novices or apprentices will raise the boom of the excavator to the highest position, fully open the dipper handle, and turn the dipper toward the sky in order to get a better view. In fact, it is very dangerous to walk like this. As the working device is raised, the center of gravity is high, and the car will roll over if the ground is slightly uneven.
3、 Pay attention to the blind area
The cab of the excavator is on the left side, and the middle passive arm blocks the view, so there is a large blind area on the right side, especially behind the right side. Many excavator accidents are caused by the right side of the tail rotating and people are injured or killed! Therefore, when working in a not very wide site, the excavator should keep to the left as far as possible to leave more space on the right side.
In addition, many people don't pay much attention to the rear view mirror of the excavator. The rear view mirror is a very fragile thing on the excavator. It is often knocked off during work or transportation. Many drivers will feel that if they touch it, they will touch it. Anyway, it is not important. They haven't replaced the rear view mirror in time. In fact, the rearview mirror on the excavator is very important, especially on the right side. Accidents often occur due to poor safety awareness!
